This performance features a large number of Dutch folk songs, folk instrumental variations and dance music, as well as historical percussion music, recreating the singing and dancing style of Fort Gerlandia in those days.

Music was an integral part of 17th century Dutch cultural life. The traders, soldiers and officers must have

entertained themselves with songs and dances on the tropical island. In this program we present to you various

Dutch folk tunes, variations on the folk tunes and dances, and instrumental sonatas, showcasing an aspect of

cultural life inside Fort Zeelandia.
